"Why do tumblr embeds suck shit"
Like is there an easy way to pull the direct media out of a tumblr post without it wanting to load site code? I've long been very annoyed about such thing as "images redirecting to the image within a page frame telling you to view this on tumblr" and "aggressive media size limitations that mean sometimes the only copy of something online is now a copy that had to fit in tumblr" and generally don't want to load any code they wrote on my computer. But, given all of that, they seem like they'd be one of the more aggressive sites for breaking preview functionality ala iframely.
To be clear, no issue here with anyone that wants to use tumblr. The days of it being a great steamroller to images and clips are long past, as it's not ubiquitous anymore. I'm being a grumpy dork about their technical side. This is me wanting rich people that run websites to let me leech off of their CDNs for free and getting very upset when they try to make a buck in the process.
