I wanna say there was a big remix or edit in the 00s as well? The tradition of sample royalties means it gets called something totally different every time.
Maybe they get royalties, I don't know. I come from the part of electronic music where people would just sell whitelabels and otherwise not be popular enough for anyone to notice the sample use most of the time. Shoutouts to Moonraker.
