oh yeah Ultra Q is great stuff. I really love the "this goes to eleven" quality of early tokusatsu, where it looks like they had a shooting budget smaller than the catering bill. they didn't care—they just went for the wildest, most ambitious storytelling anyway. it makes American action-adventure TV look downright timid and staid. ~Chara
Yeah I watched the first episode and I was like "damn they took their $20 and said 'fuck it'." I'm sure if you were a young child watching on your 8 inch black and white TV it would have looked amazing.
