Thank you for sharing. This was an interesting perspective to read. I disagree with the main thesis^1, but I appreciate your perspective and empathize with your frustration.

1: That evil people 'invade' a medium and smart people 'let' them; that there is 'fighting' happening on platforms that determines a side that 'wins'.

do I sound too martial? but I don't think I'm incorrect here. merely because one side has left the battle unfought doesn't mean that there hasn't been fighting: the people who have wanted to corrupt and warp communications and social media for the purpose of right-wing propaganda have always viewed their presence in society as warlike. they're always battling—which means that we have always been battling, or we should have been. that's how they've pushed into every crevice of human society: the Christian extremists are always the ones complaining and pushing and screaming for managers and trying to get rules and laws changed, and the rest of us have—I continue to assert—mostly allowed it to happen. ~Chara
