and all i can say is that's the least surprising news I've heard in years
if a "popular scientist" is dense enough to believe in "human beings come in exactly two 'biological sexes', it's Science™", then they were always worthless as a popularizer of science in the first place; clearly they always viewed science as rigid dogma, not as science. ~Chara

I watched one of her videos a few weeks ago and she just had a vibe to her that aggravated me. I couldn't put it into words, but yeah, not surprising that she both sides'd trans kids and terfs

exactly! they're demonstrating that their knowledge of biology is paper thin, and to be honest...that's probably usual for the kind of nerd who thinks of physics as the summa qua non of all science; poke them hard enough and they'll probably sneer at biology as a "soft science" that doesn't live up to the standards of "hard science" (i.e. something easily condensed into equations) ~Chara
no, i'd say people like this are perfectly filling the role of "popular science" these days as a genre 🙃
