...yesterday I read an article about the excavation of a necropolis near Paris, and it mentioned how you can tell the pagan burials apart from the Christian ones because pagans left offerings for the dead when they interred someone, but the Christians left nothing. I guess they thought they'd made a joke of death...it doesn't seem very funny now.
