"Max Payne" isn't exactly...good. I still get a kick out of its weird noir-parody vibe—like someone tried copying the superficial style of Double Indemnity and applied it to a very post-Reaganite story about Crime™ and Drugs™. remember kids, drugs are bad! Valkyr is like the devil's venom! also taking Vicodin will cure bullet wounds.

at any rate I've just about reached the point where I don't care about playing the game honestly, and that's not exactly a good thing. I don't like cheating through games but it's something I've done when a game has come to feel like a slog, but a slog I want to see the end of. and "Max Payne" definitely means wading through a lot of murdering.
