...I liked it a lot. but I admit that I'm still feeling a bit bowled over by the movie and not likely to be very objective about it. Daria surprised me with the idea of watching it tonight and it was an excellent idea. we haven't watched a movie together in a long time...I used to be really bad at it. way too fidgety. these days I use a notebook as a stim and manage to keep much quieter and calmer.
I've encountered complaints about the Villeneuve Dune being badly paced; I disagree, but the movie does perhaps feel a bit long. I think it's well-judged, though; you get plenty of time to get a feel for the central characters of Leto's entourage, before everything gets blown to smithereens. Duncan Idaho, in particular, benefits from the deft additions of some extra lines.
