chasing the crumbs of early 1990s memories brought up another Caltech discovery of ours, which was Cliff Stoll's The Cuckoo's Egg. anyone remember that relic? I don't remember too much about it myself; it was one of those books that I read less out of genuine interest and more because, once I'd gotten a good start on it, there was no point in not finishing. it's not like we were doing anything else important, aside from failing out of school.
