I haven't seen the pilot episode to Deep Space Nine since I was at Caltech. it's a boffo start for the series—in fact...isn't DS9 basically the only Star Trek series that hits the ground running? I'm a little reluctant to cite the original Star Trek because the original pilot with Jeffrey Hunter was quashed and we got a much more humdrum sort of story as the official first episode of "TOS". (anyway rewatching it now) ~Chara

not that you asked but...

my rankings.

these are all lackluster at best, worst listed first:

voyager - caretaker
discovery - the vulcan hello
tos - the man trap
ds9 - emissary
enterprise - broken bow
snw - strange new worlds

actually good:

lower decks - second contact
tng - encounter at farpoint

i'm not entirely sure why i love it so much but i absolutely adore:

prodigy - lost and found

that's it. that's all of the star treks. there are no others.
