Has a historian writing from a non-Christian perspective, a Jewish historian perhaps, written any textbook about the earliest decades of the Jesus cult? I'm inclined to mistrust Biblical scholarship from Christian authors, I admit, and therefore I don't trust popular sources of information on such basic topics as the estimated dates of authorship of early Christian documents. I fear that they're likely to skew towards excessive optimism. Hence I'm hoping to find a more dispassionate authority. ~Χαρά
