I was going to write some big long thing about The Man Who Was Thursday and why its Mercury Theatre performance came to seem so important to us, but it's very late. Or early. It's been an uphill struggle getting Frisk to see any value in the story. But the turning point, I daresay, was when I succeeded in persuading Frisk that while G. K. Chesterton's ideas about anarchism might be ridiculous, (a) none of his characters are actually anarchists anyway except for Gregory, whom Syme exposes as unserious, and (b) people like that exist right now.
There may be no "Council of the Seven Days", but you can find people who talk in exactly that way on Twitter. "A man's brain must expand, if it breaks up the Universe!!" is routine for Twitter. (Isn't that basically the galaxy brain meme anyway?)
