This is reminding of two things that I got to play with in childhood: discarded "IBM cards", i.e. punch-cards for Fortran programming; and discarded magnetic tape reels. Both were artifacts of obsolete computer equipment where my dad worked, and they were both useful. Admittedly the old Hollerith cards were considerably more useful, but you could still use the tape to tie things up with and stuff. ~Chara
