This might be a stretch, but there’s a YouTube series called Nick Knacks that does mini-essays on every show that’s aired on Nickelodeon. A lot of the early episodes focus on how Nick tried to position itself against the more corporate toy programming that deregulation enabled, so maybe you can find something in their bibliography?
