you know, I didn't like this movie super much at first! I saw it when it was new, not longer after I moved to Seattle in October 1999, at the Uptown theatre in Queen Anne. I'd seen Dark City earlier that year and at the time, Proyas's movie seemed like the better attempt to tell a story about human beings kept trapped in a simulation of humdrum "real life" and manipulated for nefarious purposes. Now Dark City seems like the weaker movie, the less intriguing movie. Go figure. ~Chara
