Deep Space Nine is written like tragedy; the best episodes have the feeling of great plays on stage. Babylon 5 is written like a tokusatsu. it's big and melodramatic and it doesn't quite hang together. Straczynski wrote an unusually effective kid's show, basically, which is funny because he always talked (in the old Usenet days) about how much he hated children. ~Chara
