I'm training for a new job and my supervisor is heavily priming everyone for the inevitability of missing state mandated meal breaks. She said that in the event that there is a scheduling issue that leads to someone not taking a meal break that they sign a meal waiver as if that's a matter of course.
My understanding is that all of this is wildly illegal and basically I think it is a matter of when, not if, I need to be in touch with a lawyer about something shady happening here and I simply do not know the first thing about how to prepare for that or who I should talk to. Can anyone help?
