i switched my default search engine from google to duckduckgo recently since google is now an unreliable mess, but it's unfortunate that duckduckgo's image search is just... not very good. in particular it seems like it doesn't tend to index recent images very well. i tried searching for screenshots of sonic superstars, a game that was announced a month and a half ago now, and it instead gave me images related to 2008's sega superstars tennis

Feel that; Love DDG generally but I still have to resort to google for finding images and local businesses.
I use startpage. Their image search is really good but unfortunately they do show a row of sponsored purchase links between the results and the search bar
I use DDG but I feel like it's search algorithms are probably similar to google's because it feels like it easily falls victim to google-aimed SEO-bait. The lack of privacy violations means it's still a net upgrade but yeah
I seem to remember DDG's image search results going on a lot longer before you hit the wholly-unrelated BS at the very end.
