i haven't had anything bad happen to me yet, but i've noticed a default site behavior on bluesky that i have to assume will only result in unreal levels of dogpiling as the platform continues to grow
what i've noticed on my end is that i've made a few posts critical of bluesky's lack of core features, which will then get a handful of annoying responses from people who don't even follow me. eventually i realized why this happens: by default your main "following" feed will also show you replies that the people you follow make to other posts. and i mean ALL of their replies. and because you can't lock your account, this makes every conversation EXTREMELY public, broadcast to as many people as possible
in practice, all it takes is one person with even a moderate number of followers to reply in disagreement with something you posted, or correct you on something, or ANYTHING even remotely like that. said reply will be pushed to the following feeds of many of their followers, and then likeminded followers of theirs will chime in to parrot what they said. it effectively turns every reply on bluesky into a soft form of quote tweet. for me this has just meant getting a handful of people going "well it beats being stuck with elon lol!" when i complain about the fact that bluesky doesn't support gifs or locked accounts or whatever, but i can only imagine how bad this could get, or how bad it's already gotten for people who put more time into using the site
again, you CAN go into your settings and hide replies on your main feed. i did this on day one just because i was annoyed that the site was making me peep on my mutuals' random conversations with other people. and you can also give replies a minimum required like threshold before they show up on your feed. but this isn't the default setting, so it seems like a lot of people just leave them on, encouraging this behavior among the userbase
