it's a little bonkers to me that newgrounds still has a 5-star review system in place for all submissions. i know it's just a leftover feature from the ancient portal system where everyone wants to have the top thing of the day, but it's one of the biggest reasons why i would never even dream of going back there and using it as a serious art gallery. just the thought of having to see a bunch of random newgrounds teens decide that my last drawing was a 4.64 out of 5 but actually this newest one is only worth a 4.51. this is evil to me

fwiw, you're not alone, and apparently Tom Fulp has actually been considering doing away with ratings and daily awards for a while now
the part of me that doesn't want to acknowledge the passage of two decades wants the quaint at-this-point-idiosyncracy to stay, but the part of me that wants Newgrounds to succeed in the current era as a platform because of how it otherwise functions mechanically (wrt collaboration in particular) wants the off-putting historical gunk scraped away, and the part of me that wants to engage with the Content of the Content Creators definitely finds that historical gunk off-putting
