i do have to admit it's very funny to me when i see people on here refer to tumblr in the past tense and say that it's a dead platform like myspace or friendster or whatever. i love cohost and pay for cohost plus and i do not believe that user counts are inherently indicative of the actual quality of a website (if i did i'd use facebook), but like. tumblr's activity still completely dwarfs all of the new sites twitter expats are relocating to. including cohost. let's not kid ourselves here

I don't disagree, Tumblr is still super active, especially comparatively to cohost. I do however think that a lot of Tumblr is dead sentiment is really better phrased "Tumblr is dead for me", because those people were likely there for friends and parasocial relationships that no longer thrive on Tumblr. That doesn't mean you or me will find Tumblr actually dead or dying.
