i've naturally decided that i need to replay ff7 (and by that i mean: maybe actually play more than just the first disc for the first time lmao) as a refresher before rebirth, since seeing how they expand on everything and how it compares to the original is half the fun. unfortunately i'm getting some really weird audio issues playing the old ps4 port of the original game on ps5. music will pause for a second every now and then, usually when an animation or something is loading in, but even worse i had three instances where the music just cut out entirely throughout the midgar section

i don't think i remember this happening on the switch port, so i may just hop over to an unfinished save i have on that version just past kalm. idk, has anyone else encountered these issues? is this just a problem with the modern ff7 ports? i can't find anything about this online

i played about halfway through the switch port and never encountered that issue, so unless i was just lucky i don’t think it’s a problem with the modern ports generally. i also read that a different music glitch was resolved on switch but not on ps4, so it seems like that version got a little more polish; hopping over’s probably a good bet
