being in ff7 hyperfixaton mode pre-rebirth means i am inevitably rewatching tim rogers' old translation comparison series "let's mosey." let's mosey is still very good and fun and fascinating. it also really makes me appreciate the remakes even more, because a lot of the little character nuances tim points out as having been lost or downplayed in the original english translation are things that come across much more clearly in the remakes via the new script, the voice acting, the animation, etc. i love all the characterization work in remake so much. the party is so good

I binged it just a few weeks ago, after finishing FF7 on PS1 for the first time last month, and it's really the perfect cross between my interests in RPGs and language/translation. I kind of want to rewatch it already, hahh
tomato did a similar series for ff6. very illustrative of how far awry some lines got in the original translation
yeah, love tomato's work over at legends of localization! i need to pick up the undertale translation book one of these days
