Ponett Gazette (new blog!)

i'm getting tired of using medium due to things like the way my articles get covered in accidental highlights and the fact that it randomly hid at least one paragraph from my hazbin review at some point after it was published. i'm thinking it might be time to move my longform writing over to a site of my own

do people still like wordpress these days? is that the easiest option? should i just raw dog it with html and add them as a subsection of my existing neocities site, just with a layout closer to something like a medium article? i don't really know

I'm not sure about Wordpress etc. but if you're just looking to add a blog section to your neocities you might look into Zonelets; it's an engine which can partially automate the blogging process on static websites like neocities. the biggest drawback is that you'd need to add some simple HTML formatting to each post, but if you're okay with doing that much it's a nice little tool.

I can't speak on what site works well for this but I hate how medium formats articles on larger monitors. The long giant middle column of text broken up by images that leaves the sides completely bare and blinding frustrates me to no absolute end. It doesn't help that the site is black text on white background with no option for dark mode so it's impossible to read at night which is like...the one time I really have to read your posts about animation that is good or mediocre...
