i signed up for letterboxd recently as part of my effort to start watching more movies, but i'm still undecided if i should post reviews along with ratings. should i do this? do people want me to do this? i could do this. (i'm already writing one-paragraph reviews of everything i watch for my end-of-year media roundups.) but idk, letterboxd kind of scares me

i feel like the userbase mainly rewards detached, pithy quips over sincere engagement, and i don't like the thought of getting put on blast for my hot takes due to the fact that letterboxd is THE place people go to see what other people thought of a movie these days. if i could make my reviews visible to only people following me this would be so much easier. i am reluctant to be on The Page For The Movie

but also maybe i'm overthinking this and i'll be fine if i just lock comments to friends only. idk
