hey it could be worse! you could have a great idea for a deckbuilder roguelike
pure mega man type games like gravity circuit still seem somewhat uncommon, though I'm not sure how much attention the genre gets these days
they're not the most common, but there are enough really good ones like gravity circuit or 30xx or berserk boy or shovel knight (which is a little further from pure mega man but still has a lot of that dna) and also all the mega man fangames out there that it feels like fans of the subgenre are well fed
