On the one hand I very seriously doubt that the outcome of a national election will save us, otoh my hobby is voting against school board candidates whose websites mention "parental rights"

I currently love that the runoff for my Parish Council member is currently conservative history teacher who taught lost cause narrative at my old high school but also believes in climate change, and Ultra Conservative Lawyer who decries "CRT" taught by his opponent and is an election denier. Love this system.
This is a good point in that you have to be sort of lucky to live in a place where there are actual options in local elections to begin with.
I keep getting anxious when I see so many people talking about school board stuff because somehow there was none of that. My locality had zero elections this time. It was all state level. I fear that means some people were simply unopposed but I don't know
It may just not be the year for it. Last big state and local election here was 2019.
There was one school board election last year I suppose. It was between a guy who teaches college (sports medicine I think) with zero online presence or interview material and a lady with a Facebook page who said bigotry is wrong but who wouldn't say the simple words and also said parents should be involved in decision making soooo)
I actually have no idea who won, no one seems to have reported on it at all
