I like, programming languages, compilers, types, formal logic, girls, video games, computer graphics, databases, sci-fi (and also just, everything). White. 26.
See @cassie-gundam for Gundam posts.
Huh. Stalker takes place the same year as Alien and Mobile Suit Gundam. 1979 was a busy year.
I finished Mobile Suit Gundam (1979)!
That was a cool show. Dated in a lot of ways for sure, but also very well put together, doing a lot with what it has.
I enjoyed the visual style, I enjoyed the harder sci-fi they stick in with slightly more extreme robots (I hear there will be more of the harder sci-fi in Zeta! Looking forward to it.)
It's cool to be able to see that it's cel animation, when you can clearly see the sheets being moved, and when they're visibly casting subtle shadows on each other. I know this is like the default in older stuff, but I haven't watched much animation this old where it is so obvious. (This is probably also a function of budget, etc.)
Despite my initial worries (it is from 1979!), I think it really is a good place to start.
They finally have space suits that fit properly! Also Kikka has a gun (backwards)! As always, the kids are cute in this episode.
