Whew, cohost lets you type a lot more than bluesky does. So, here's the full post!

A while ago the idea was suggested to me as a joke. Something very un-serious. But... I ran with it-- and then I searched and I searched but I found nothing; nobody had made anything like this before, as far as I could tell. The closest I could find were some six-sided dice made of denim that weren't actually functional as actual dice.

Fast forward to recently, and I finished making my first three ever sets of jice. As far as I'm aware, I'm the inventor of jice. The mother of jice, perhaps. And so, I present to you, the first ever sets of completed denim jice a.k.a. jice

(PS: I made all three sets as a giveaway reward for a friend's fundraiser. The second and third sets were snapped up as rewards, but the first ever set- the dark one- was never chosen as a reward. tumblr's going to be put on life support

i am in a weird nexus of "not surprised" and "surprised" with this cuz on one hand post Blazing and tipping and double-triple-quad checkmarks or whatever was like... ok Tumblr is carving out its niche and making stuff work for itself within its scope

but also it trying to corporatize smol bean posting and changing the dashboard to look like twitter and shove Live™ content in your face was like... idk. very clear floundering.

sucks. i'm surprised, i'm not surprised, mostly i'm sad because it seems like automattic were/are actually pretty good to them and tumblr probably wouldn't have had a chance to do anything new under different/more vulturous ownership
