One of the joys of this format is that every once in a while, the show throws a curveball at us that sounds like a fun time and ends up being a real brainburner. Such is the case with series 8 episode 3, “Robot of Sherwood”. On the Doctor Who political compass, this episode is resting comfortably in the square labeled “stupid” and “bad”. The characters are across-the-board annoying this week, and the story is totally incoherent. At least it’s a fun disaster!

What's your favorite part of the Doctor Who Robin Hood episode? Mine is when the Doctor instructs the prisoners of the robots to all pick up convenient reflective silver trays off the dungeon floor and they use them to kill every single one of the robots by bouncing their lasers back at them. And then they all just walk out the door like damn we should've done that a while ago huh

Oh! a question for circuit people! So, gold has two uses: You can plate certain areas in gold, usually stuff like plugs, connectors, switch contacts and holes drilled through circuit boards, just to give them a bit better conductivity and protection against the elements. The second is that inside of chips such as general lighting LEDs, they use extremely thin gold wire, thinner than the human hair, to connect different parts.

Coating a circuit board in gold is a terrible idea.
