twitter has produced some real freakish behavior over the years but recently I keep seeing something that, to me, is one of the all-time most bewildering. what the hell is up with the people who tag those chatGPT reply accounts? there's a couple of these accounts out there like ReplyGPT, RoflGPTBot, etc. and I always see weird dorks tagging them in replies. if you don't know what I'm talking about it looks like this

it's always shit like that. it's never anything interesting or insightful or funny. it can't be! it's chatGPT! but people are always tagging these bots for some fucking reason. there's even bots that piggyback on the tags of other bots, like I think the person who made RoflGPTBot set it up to search for people tagging ReplyGPT lmao. it's absolutely pathetic
actually as I'm writing this I've looked through more replies to the tweet that prompted this post and holy shit twitter is horrendous now. there are so many of these bot accounts! dozens of people tagging "ExplainThisBob", apparently a cryptocurrency powered pepe account that basically just repeats the original tweet in slightly different wording like

ExplainThisBob, a chatGPT spam reply account which promotes a memecoin called $BOB, has been suspended since Elon Musk personally noticed that it was a crypto spam account. The first time he's ever done anything right! This, of course, tanked the value of $BOB and now all of the crypto clowns are mad at him. $BOB had previously peaked in value when Elon himself replied to ExplainThisBob saying "I love Bob". If you go to their website, it's covered top to bottom in references to how much Elon loves them. Oops!
Meanwhile, as I was looking into this I accidentally pulled up the stats on an unrelated coin, $BOBC. I was confused at first because it also tanked today and peaked in April, but then I realized it's because it's the first thing that comes up when you search for "Bobcoin" and presumably its value is accidentally tied to the viral Twitter memecoin that it has nothing to do with. Gotta love crypto
