my take on the cohost tags update is that they should in no way be beholden to the posting conventions that grew out of tumblr's absolutely bizarre design choices. seems fine to me!
also like, if you want to share a post and not include someone attached tag essay, you can just go to the previous share in the thread. and on the other side of it, people have been screencapping tag essays and sharing them as weird, unattributed screenshots since forever, which is imo a bad and confusing behavior that this prevents. just seems like an improvement across the board
