(I asked you in person but the people probably want to know) who should get a keyblade next?
first of all thank you for sending this as an ask so my takes can be made publicly visible. okay I'm going to put my answer under the cut because it deals with spoilers for the current state of kingdom hearts
we're at a point now where it feels like they're sort of rebuilding the keyblade order, to put it in jedi terms, and nomura has said that there are as many keyblades as there are hearts fit to wield them. with that in mind, donald and goofy should absolutely have keyblades. the further the series goes with them not having keyblades, the weirder it's going to feel that they don't. but from a gameplay perspective, they absolutely shouldn't have keyblades because it would be boring. so that's not the answer to your question but I did want to say that in universe, they deserve keyblades
isa has to get a keyblade. here are all the reasons I can think of off the top of my head that isa should and will get a keyblade
- he's lea's best friend and lea has one so why shouldn't he
- he's a badass
- he wants to find and rescue subject X and he'll need to be able to fight
- he's marked with the recusant's sigil
- he's the only original organization member besides xigbar to be norted from the beginning
- he's epic
- (my personal unconfirmed theory is) he's descended from the foreteller ira so he's part of a keyblade lineage
- it would be good
- he has a strong enough heart that he was able to betray the organization in KH3 despite being already norted
- I would like it
