I'll probably get cancelled for this but super mario wonder feels like a sonic game a lot of the time. platforming where you often have to slow to a crawl against your instincts to deal with the fiddly controls? exploration that often leads to a disappointing reward of useless coins? levels that sometimes stop being a game and start being a flashy set piece where the game becomes piss easy to make sure you can look at the visuals? annoying little characters chiming in with worthless shit throughout the levels? that's sonic the hedgehog shit. if this game has a saving grace, it's that it was made by competent developers and works perfectly fine, but I'm still so baffled by most of the choices they made
