I feel like there must be some kind of gas leak in the SNL writers' room because it is so incomprehensible to me that you can take so many funny people and produce comedy sketches that are utterly devoid of jokes. I just watched three minutes of a six minute sketch where the premise was "awkward family dinner where everyone praises the genius son who was involved in a big nuclear fusion breakthrough, and his loser brother is jealous and angry" and every line of dialogue was just characters spelling out the premise for the dumbfuck viewers in the most agonizing way. "Edgar, it's not that we're not proud of you for delivering all those pizzas at your job, we're just saying your brother was involved in some pretty amazing science that could change the world!"
