following up on this post from the other day I've become fixated on the idea that the protagonists from fallout 4 and disco elysium are basically the same guy, and the only difference is how people react to them. so here's a silly post about that
FROZEN WOMAN -- A beautiful woman is slumped back in the cryo pod. The fear and grief in her eyes are as unmistakable as the hole in her head. A mixture of blood and tears are frozen on her face.
PERCEPTION (SIGHT) [Trivial: Success] -- She's wearing a wedding ring. It matches the one you're wearing.
LOGIC [Medium: Failure] -- You must have bought them from the same jeweler. What a small world!
YOU -- "Kim, look!" You hold up your right hand. "Weird coincidence, eh?"
KIM KITSURAGI -- The lieutenant opens his mouth to speak, but says nothing. He looks deeply uncomfortable.
EMPATHY [Challenging: Failure] -- He looks tense. Say something sarcastic to lighten the mood!
YOU -- "Ring, ring! Earth to Kim! Get it?"
KIM KITSURAGI -- "Please, detective, let's just keep moving."
EMPATHY [Medium: Success] -- It's for your own good.
ANCIENT SKELETON -- In the Overseer's office, you find a dusty old skeleton wearing a familiar uniform. It's the same one as the man who welcomed you into Vault 111.
PERCEPTION (SIGHT) -- On the opposite side of the room, a glass display case catches your eye. Inside is a large gun.
ENCYCLOPEDIA [Formidable: Success] -- The Vault-Tec Cryolator. Developed as an experimental means of portable cryogenic freezing, theoretically circumventing the need for those massive and expensive cryo pods.
HALF-LIGHT -- Fuck yes! "Portable cryogenic freezing"? More like "freeze ray"! Picture yourself walking around the wasteland with this baby. Feral ghouls, deathclaws, synths... all shall perish at the hands of THE CRYOLATOR!
YOU -- "Nice. Coming back for you later."
KIM KITSURAGI -- The lieutenant looks perplexed. "Are we, detective? When exactly are you planning on coming back here?"
YOU -- "You know, Kim, once I get better at lockpicking. I figure I can bust this fucker open, grab that freeze ray and pew-pew!"
KIM KITSURAGI -- "Sure. We'll come back here once you become a master of lockpicking. I'll add it to the list, next to that computer terminal you said you'll be able to hack someday."
INTERFACING -- Kim thinks we can't do this, but you feel an itch in your fingertips that tells you it's only a matter of time. You're a display case opening machine!
SHIVERS [Legendary: Success] -- Let's be honest with ourselves here. You're never coming back for that gun.
