Do you remember the good old days when you would stream reading the comments sections of comics…

I was just thinking last night that I'd like to do another stream like that sometime. I got really overwhelmed between work and podcasts for a while and I'm definitely not at the point where I could get back to streaming regularly but... maybe soon! I was going to do it yesterday actually but then I didn't

The sad truth of it is that while I do enjoy streaming, I don't enjoy it as much as I wish I did. There's a lot of stuff about it that is just a pain in the ass to me so I think I've accepted at this point that I will probably never fully get into it as a hobby. I'd like to do it once in a while though

Could you please rank any funny voices you've had to perform for podcasts based on how much fun you have doing them?

oh god... hmm... okay. this is every voice I can think of off the top of my head. if I'm forgetting anything, oh well!

  1. funny cow character
  2. droopy moleman
  3. terra
  4. vampiro
  5. kyle XY
  6. xehanort
  7. donald duck
  8. ricky underwood (happy)
  9. terrible beatles impression that pisses jordan off e.g. "birds in me backpack"
  10. josh trager
  11. steppenwolf
  12. dalek
  13. ricky underwood (sad)
  14. leo boykewich
  15. chillary
  16. ben boykewich
  17. george juergens

ben is in second to last because I think I've just completely lost the voice at this point. I can never quite get it to sound right anymore. george is in last because it physically hurts to do. I don't know why funny cow character is the winner but when I ask myself "is there any voice I have enjoyed doing more than the funny cow character?" the answer is absolutely not

I would love to develop some more voices on doctor huh but I have no ear for regional british accents so I feel like that may never happen. you never know though, droopy moleman voice was well over a hundred episodes into juergen' it

Hello,

Regarding this post, https://cohost.org/positivestress/post/1103151-a-semi-subchost-abou

Chain of Memories. I don't get its importance, but you've stated the mechanics and great character arcs are important for the rest of the series. Could you expand on that?

Also, the card deck game play I can't get over, especially since, to my knowledge, it's not used again in the series.

Thank you!

sure! I should clarify first of all that when I said "mechanics" I meant that in a worldbuilding and story sense, not gameplay. thankfully, the cards never come back. chain of memories is the first appearance of nobodies and replicas, both of which will carry forward into future games to varying degrees that I won't get into here for spoiler reasons

it also introduces tons of characters who will continue to be important, and I think it's worthwhile to get their stories from the beginning. are you missing out on a ton for axel if you skip CoM? not really, you'll see him in KH2 and days, but future namine appearances will largely fall flat, and you'd entirely miss out on important organization members like vexen, marluxia, and larxene who may or may not matter in the future, plus the first appearance of DiZ

I think a lot of people have made the argument that, since sora loses his memories in the end, it's not a huge loss for the player to be confused about the same things as him, but I do think riku's story in CoM is pretty crucial to his overall character arc and leads directly into where he's at in days/KH2. not to mention he befriends mickey and it's good to see

I guess I should qualify all of these opinions of mine with, this is the best way imo to experience kingdom hearts if you want the complete story. I know some people don't care about that, which is fair enough but I can't understand it myself

if you're interested in getting the CoM story without playing it yourself, I highly recommend this "story mode" let's play from playframe! he shows off the gameplay just enough to get the idea, while liberally editing out as much of it as possible. if you're not interested... that's also fine! this is all just my opinions :eggbug:
