I used to use 3dsmax so like this actually feels a bit more comfortable, especially they way it separates layout and modeling and such, rather than having those menus be contextual to what you've got selected or however it works
i think blender is based now, i think general consensus is it's much much better than all the commerical options. i did see a guy on twitter not too long ago who was HILARIOUSLY mad about it though.
Yeah like I remember it being kind of rough for a long time, but actually trying it... it seems really nice, it'll take a while to get fully used to it but things are more or less where I expect them to be, it feels like it will be good to play with
yeah the big issue before 2.8 was that the UI was completely fucking inscrutable. everything has improved on that front and the pace of New Shit has been insane. blender is extremely good software now.
I mean I hear people talk about it as being great all the time, but personally havent been able to even get thru the simplest tutorial. I'm learning rhino 7 right now which is CAD software unlike blender and I'm having a better time
Oh that's fair, I haven't done anything with Blender yet, but I spend ages using 3dsmax and always appreciated some of the more CAD-oriented workflow stuff.
ok also i guess blender 3 only came out last december, so blender has only been good for 10 months lol
