unrelated to my other post about analog transmission of images, i got a new film camera!!! it's a «Fuji Discovery 80 PLUS», and i have no documentation for it whatsoever. why does it have an LCD on the back? [image] wghat does that switch on the front do?? why can't i turn the flash off??? why are there so many black orbs inside the camera???? these are all questions i don't expect to be answered, but would appreciate any help with!!! but anyways, yeah! in the span of about 2 days i have multiplied my analog-ness of my media output by a factor of like, 3ish, and i just think htat's sup[er cool :D

Super cool, indeed! The switch on the front-right of the camera body likely controls the flash, as indicated by the lightning bolt symbol. Try switching it to the eye symbol to deactivate the flash. When you say “black orbs inside”, do you mean visible through the viewfinder, or inside the camera body? It could be dust or bits of degraded plastic. Either way, use a microfiber cloth to carefully remove them. I could only find this handbook being sold for $7.50, which may not contain all the answers you need: https://www.camerabooks.com/Products/Fuji-Discovery-80-Plus-Owners-Manual-multi-language__OF810-FujiDiscovery80Plus-spc-MANUAL.aspx I hope this comment helps, happy shooting!

thank you a lot. immediately after posting this, and after this comment, i found a very helpful video where i discovered my camera is also called a Fuji DL-90 Date apparently? i would have never ever found this if i hadn't had just started looking for random fuji cameras that vaguely look like mine, but the person in the video is quite helpful. that switch up front actually toggles a "red eye" compensation thing? it's weird! i don't think i can actually turn the flash off! but that's actually perfectly fine for me (i bought it thinking it probably was gonna be flash on always). i ALSO learned that the LCD is some kind of date code thing???????????? i have no idea how that works yet and i've already got film in it, so i'll do that next time, but like yo. but thank you!!! i appreciate it immensely.
