This is even broader than tech IMO. The whole trend of MBAs and bean counters treating employees like identical, replaceable cogs is colliding with reality as institutional knowledge disappears and employee loyalty changes to employee hostility

This is it. Capitalists don't see the world as materially existing, but rather as set of obscure rules to be exploited for their benefit, much in the way min/maxers, power gamers, speedrunners, or glitch hunters view a video game. (This is not a condemnation of the latter at all.)
