this is closely related to my favorite genre of tumblr post, which is the call to normalize a completely ordinary unremarkable thing. "normalize male masculinity!" okay, done! taking the rest of the afternoon off
My favorite specific version of this is "Actually I like [extremely popular thing, maybe universally acclaimed thing] and I'm not afraid to admit it!"
Since no one else has posted the relevant XKCD comic yet, I get to be the one to do it.
sometimes when I see posts like this I start digging through reblogs and tags and blogs and find the wildest discourse imaginable. I would not recommend doing this it has taken years off off of my life and my therapist politely requests me to stop quite often.
