My favorite kind of tie-in merch, ever, is the kind that feels like an artifact that fell out of a hole from the world the story takes place in. MOTHBOY MONTHLY is a queer erotica and culture magazine from the world of C.W.'s comic COELARY, and while it's certainly got interesting worldbuilding content in it that fleshes out some previously unseen corners of COELARY's urban anthro-arthropod setting, that's never the focus of the book. Instead, it seeks to document and connect a vibrant citywide gay moth subculture that feels lived-in and real-- it's by mothboys, for mothboys. The design details, like the subtle graininess of the printing, the layouts and typographic choices, and even the mimeographed inserts, further add to the verisimilitude. Also: there's some fantastic writing and delectable art by C.W. and a wide range of collaborators! You owe it to yourself to preorder MOTHBOY MONTHLY-- as a supplement to the larger COELARY project, as a piece of immersive queer fiction, and as just a super cool printed thing. }:3
