Obfuscation

It is crucial to the existence of this organization to maintain absolute secrecy of XCT-0001 above all other XCTs. Any witness to the document detailing the operations of or involving XCT-0001 lacking maximum clearance are to be detained for the administration of high-grade amnestics and reassigned as a T-0.

Internal personnel are to receive false document XCT-0001-B upon any inquiry of XCT-0001, explaining XCT-0001 as a box that changed colors due to the mineral surface that it had. It is to be attributed as a completely non-anomalous artwork made by an unnamed artist and kept as a "memento" of the organization in the chairman's office for anyone to view.

As the anomaly is a crucial component of the financial operations of the organization, its mention is omitted from the codified financial procedures of the organization and its outlets. Instead, XCT-0001's roles are to be outlined here. XCT-0001 is to be used for the production of cash, licenses, license plates, replacement parts, ammunition, computing systems, personnel, uranium, raw materials, and other resources.

Examination

XCT-0001 is a hoop roughly 1 meter in diameter with metallic properties resembling iron, copper, and zinc. Its discovery dates between the late 1800s and early 1900s by a pair of identical children. Whether or not the identical child is a byproduct of XCT-0001 is unknown.

The anomalous properties of XCT-0001 are not merely described as duplication. Rather, its capabilities involve authentic reproductions of any solid object placed at least halfway through the hoop. This authentic reproduction not only creates a duplication of the item, it subsequently affects any and all records that are designed to track its production.

Insiders of government bodies overseeing the production of currency have confirmed that internal records will update to accommodate for all newly created forms of currency that the governing body uses. These additions and modifications are made until the system hosting them can no longer maintain the amount of new information, which is accounted for by the duties of deployed insiders.

Archived Examination: 1914

Entry, October 6th, 1914. It appears that I have chanced upon a wondrous... thing, perhaps even the work of magic. It appears to me, and I do find this baffling in design as it is wild in implementation, to be a common hoop. It is very much akin to the hoops that the children play rowdy with through the streets.

But the surprise, the discovery, is what happens when something were to pass through it. I removed one of my favorite boots from my person, and upon passing it through this hoop, popped a pair, in perfect duplication! I was beside myself with amazement, and my head is still spinning. Just imagine what terror this would be in the wrong hands?

Containment

XCT-0001 is maintained in a large concrete room that is part of the conveyor belt network that bottlenecks the organization's production line of resources. In the center of the concrete room is a large hooded funnel where materials for authentic reproduction are to be fed through XCT-0001. To mitigate the risk of damage to XCT-0001, the anomalous hoop itself is shielded with a steel frame to hold it in place and narrow the passageway so as to reduce the chances of snags.

Archived Containment: 1947

When not in use, the wonder hoop should be fastened into the wooden frame designed to fit it and the whole thing slotted into the hidden 3cm space in the back the chairman's office. That way, we can easily access the wonder hoop and operate it in full view of his supervision, along with armed personnel.

Testing

A wide variety of tests have been performed on XCT-0001. As of January 14th, 1968, testing of XCT-0001 is prohibited as it is considered understood by the organization and a utility critical to its operations. Here are a number of findings from the archived tests:

• US dollar - authentic reproduction. The same dollar is reproduced to create a new dollar with a unique serial number. Insiders confirm that US Mint's records are updated to accommodate this new dollar bill.
• Submerging in water - No reaction. It appears that objects passing through XCT-0001 must have some degree of solidity.
• Ruler - copied at roughly 5.5 inches.
• Hamburger - T-0 reportedly felt hungry and smuggled a hamburger into the testing chamber. Hamburger duplicated. Unable to restrain T-0 from consuming hamburger before application of amnestics. T-0 reportedly ate the second hamburger after application while X-M had their back turned. T-0 reported experiencing deja vu. T-0's experiences are documented here for further review.
• Paint - No reaction, until a paint can is passed through the hoop, in which the paint can and contained paint are copied.
• Cube of flavored gelatin - Several tests were performed with gelatin to test the limits of solidity that XCT-0001 could duplicate. After modifying the recipe to add an additional cup of water, the result proved too viscous for the hoop to copy.
• Bag of Type O Blood - Successful. Blood successfully transfused to T-0 without noticeable side effects.
• Kitten - Successfully copied. For three consecutive days, kittens mirrored behaviors and traveled side by side or in a line before independent behaviors emerged.
• T-0 personnel - Successfully copied. To avoid damage to XCT-0001, personnel must qualify for processing through XCT-0001 and be processed through full body binding and blindfolding.
