Vivian was always cutest during the mornings, eyes still closed and so pliant when Eichi coaxed her out of bed—at the very least, that's the opinion Eichi held.
She didn't walk so much as she did cling to his side with him to nearly carry her, dark circles under her eyes and a pitiful complaint about it being too early, Eichi, can't work wait?
He had always been weak to her requests, and as much as he wished he could fulfill this one, it would merely have to be a wish—he had a nearly endless stream of work, after all. But maybe that's why he so selfishly chose to appoint her as his assistant, aiding him with tasks and work, but more importantly, he wanted Vivian all to himself.
She'd forgive him for being so selfish with her—she always did, even finding no fault in it. Still, though, Eichi couldn't help but want even more from her.
But keeping her confined in an even smaller space—that would be rather cruel, wouldn't it? Or perhaps she'd find a way to slip out between the bars, enjoying the taste of freedom without his knowledge. Even if that was the case, she'd always come back, no?
Vivian was a good boy like that. So well behaved, and even moreso now as she clung to him with a pout that made his heart ache.
"I know, I know," He tried to soothe her, fingers brushing along the back of her neck, trailing higher up and twirling a strand of her hair around a finger. She was so sensitive, the simple touch making her shiver and shy away, blush blooming across her cheeks.
For as much skinship they shared, it was always a pleasant surprise to see how much she reacted at the feeling of his fingers on her skin, tracing along her neck and down to her collarbone.
Really, he was only being selfish with her again, taking the chance to steal as much of her warmth as possible. Eichi had always ran colder—but Vivian constantly seemed like she was burning up, and it always made him feel feverish. Perhaps that was simply him being lovesick, though?
"Let me get you ready." It wasn't needed, he knew she was perfectly capable herself, but she was his Vivian. Eichi wanted to spoil her, smother her with his love—he couldn't help but always be selfish with her, could he? But such a cute thing like her deserved to constantly be spoiled.
Vivian was much too good for him, Eichi was certain of this. He'd been called dark and gloomy countless times, but Vivian—his Vivian—others seemed to be pulled in by her warmth, her adorably cheerful nature. That was all the more reason Eichi wanted to keep her firmly by his side. To protect her, he tried to convince himself.
He knew it was so he could always have her brightness just for himself. Without her, he felt as if he'd be consumed by the darkness that constantly followed him—maybe she's been spoiling him, too, with all the attention and time she so eagerly gave him.
And maybe that was why Eichi ran his fingers along the collection of collars he had custom made—just for her—brows drawn together as he thought. He certainly liked the look of Vivian in a leather collar the most, with a cute little tag.
This one even had his phone number on the back—as if she was his pet to be returned.
And maybe that's what Eichi did treat her like at times. His adorable Vivian, his puppy that seemed to always be underfoot, so eager to please.
"You'll forgive me for this one, won't you?" He whispered in her ear, warm breath fanning over it and only serving to deepen the pretty blush on her face. Vivian grabbed at his wrists as he secured a rather simple leather collar around her neck—a cream color, white silver glinting in the light as he hooked a finger underneath and tugged. He let out an approving hum once he deemed it snug enough to be satisfactory, leaning down even further to trace his lips along her jaw to soothe her once more. She had always hated the feel of leather against her skin, but Eichi felt particularly selfish today.
Vivian was only pretending to act like she hated it as he secured the collar around her neck, her grasp on his wrists kept light. She would have thrown more of a fit if she disliked it, and if she was more awake he's certain she would have complained and rolled her eyes, but even then she'd sit still and pretty while he put the collar around her neck.
"Will you let me dress you up as well today, too?"
Vivian offered no reply, but the relaxed sigh she let out was more than enough.
"You're always such a good boy for me," Quick kisses peppered along her face, Eichi straightened back up. "I'd love to see you in one of the dresses I've gotten for you—perhaps one of the newer ones?"
She averted her eyes, that adorable pout pulled deeper into a frown. Cute. She was embarrassed.
"You aren't gonna change me yourself, are you?" She grumbled those words out, fingers fidgeting with the collar that had just been put on, adjusting to the weight of it. "I'm not that helpless..."
"Oh, but I wouldn't mind." Eichi couldn't help himself from teasing her the slightest bit—although if she were to ask, he would jump at the chance. An excuse to spoil her more, but maybe a later time.
She was still clearly exhausted, after all.
"I'll choose one and lay it out for you," Ever so gently he grabbed her hand, bringing it up to his lips. "I want you to rest more. You worked much too hard yesterday—I should scold you for that, but I know you're only doing your best for me."
