As living clothing, I feel English sorely lacks a word for "being worn" that assigns to agency to the clothing. Seems like a pretty big oversight really.

We think of "adorn" because of our experience with Roblox where accessories are called "adornments" (hehe), but the definition of the word is "make more beautiful or attractive"... whatever. You can still say that you are adorning someone and you wouldn't be wrong >:)
That is a good word. Whatever the dictionary says, I think it has a strong enough association with clothing. I feel "The King's adornments" is generally gonna refer to his fancy clothes more often than his curtains. And besides, as you point out, I do fit the dictionary definition.
