turns out i LOVE not having numbers associated with posts, in terms of like & share count. it just... feels like it removes some of that fake performative internet pressure to make numbers go up, for me anyway. i've been trying to decondition myself from the mindset of "bigger is better" when it comes to social media for years & cohost seems like the perfect place for that. <3

I AGREE! i've been thinking about how cohost would feel like if there were no comment counts either, because now that comments are the only numbers on a post my brain automatically takes them to be the defining "how good is this post" quantifier. which is a bit. Hm

i've been doing the same thing! would love an option to hide comment counts as well (similar to how insta will let you hide like counts on specific posts?) just to eliminate that last bit of number chasing.

mhm !! i'm thinking of adding it as an option into the cohost chrome extension that i've made (it's called cohost better notifications, but... it could be more than just that), although maybe i'll see if i can make a userscript so non-chrome users can also use it hmmmm
