i will do what must be done, i will eat every 30 foot tall pile of cheeseburgers until everyone may see eye to eye once more
I just want to live in harmony with Mother Earth, why can't all these ecofash shut the frick up? >.<
we can do it. we can invent borehole ecology. it makes no sense for one group of animals to oppress another
you should get in touch with indigenous activism. you dont need to reinvent the wheel when its already existed for native people for a long time. i have a few books i can recommend you if youd like...?
always down for book recommendations but what i'm envisioning is a set of beliefs that is a superset of "land back" and "decolonize fucking everything"
too true ! i think you will definitely like our history is the future by nick estes. he doesnt pull any punches with that stuff, its really good
i just remembered ! TEK - 'traditional ecological knowledge.' thats an entire indigenous led field of study, and its definitely what youre looking for. i dont have a specific book rec for that, i guess we can both read more, haha
You might want to take a look at the book “Braiding Sweetgrass” by Robin Wall Kimmerer. One of the main points the book makes is that humans can be actively beneficial to ecosystems we interact with. Its a matter on living in good relation to the environment, not about the number of humans that are alive.
got a copy on the top of my physical stack of books i need to read
the guy who wrote "The Population Bomb" was just a butterfly entomologist. Up there with mechanical engineer by training Thomas Midgely Jr. in guys who caused untold devastation by not staying in their lane.
see also alleged anarchist, park ranger, and profound racist Edward Abbey
This book might interest you: Black Social Ecology and Kohei Saito's books on eco-Marxism might intrigue you as well.
these are two foundational tenets of whatever the hell i'm talking about
from our perspective they are the thing, in and of itself, and everything else follows from that.
"be respectful of everyone and everything" would be a third
Yes, but also
I think it's important to just have like, a good philosophy in place to make sure that it actually does follow from that. I don't trust enough to think there won't be bastards who just want to do Capitalism Again trying to get control.
Getting everyone to agree that maybe we shouldn't be Doing All This might also help get to the decolonization part as well
