i just remembered ! TEK - 'traditional ecological knowledge.' thats an entire indigenous led field of study, and its definitely what youre looking for. i dont have a specific book rec for that, i guess we can both read more, haha

You might want to take a look at the book “Braiding Sweetgrass” by Robin Wall Kimmerer. One of the main points the book makes is that humans can be actively beneficial to ecosystems we interact with. Its a matter on living in good relation to the environment, not about the number of humans that are alive.

I think it's important to just have like, a good philosophy in place to make sure that it actually does follow from that. I don't trust enough to think there won't be bastards who just want to do Capitalism Again trying to get control.

Getting everyone to agree that maybe we shouldn't be Doing All This might also help get to the decolonization part as well
