not enough people write essays about mewtwo returns. thats because i'm the only person who has ever seen it

like okay they could have completed mewtwo's character arc at the end of the first movie. and they kind of did, if you didn't think to check and see if there was a 40 minute tv special sequel your last exposure to this mewtwo would be in that movie and it would definitely look like it just learned its lesson and moved on. but they didn't do that, they went down the more interesting route of giving it a second character arc interwoven with the first. it got the message at the end of the first movie, but it recieved it wrong. they make the choice to say "okay we've had mewtwo work past its hatred of humans and work past its hatred of pokemon. but we didn't actually get it to work past its hatred of itsself, which is what we're going ti explore in this cheesy lower budget tv special. okay thanks for driving me insane i guess
