tofurocks is currently looking to cast two trans masculine/nonbinary Voice Actors for partial voice acting for the Queer Vampire Game Jam, taking place between January 10 - February 20th, 2024. The project is currently in pre-production and story details are subject to change.

"Tithe your blood to me, and in exchange I'll ensure you spend the rest of your days in comfort."

[A human] wakes up one day to find that he's been hit by the latest wave of tech industry redundancies, and without a decent job offer he's willing to take, he's desperate for a stream of income; it's too bad that the blood plasma donation center near his apartment is indefinitely closed for renovations. But just before all hope is lost, a stranger nearby offers him company, and much, much more not too long after...

But there's always a catch to these things, isn't there?

Project Information

Title: Blood & Play
Genres: Visual Novel, Romance (Gay Trans Masc & Trans Masc), Comedy, Dark Comedy, Drama
Engine: Ren’Py
Price: USD$3.99 (subject to increase dependent on content)

Character Information

Character names are currently pending, please refer to each character as their roles.

Role: "The Human"
Preferred Vocal Range: Alto - Tenor
Personality: Anxious, Bashful, Cautious, Rational, Tactful
Description: A guy who can't seem to catch a break, and damn does he need that vacation. Even if he was miserable at his old job, at least it kept him afloat; being the poor gofer who had to clean up spaghetti code at the end of the day was better than having all of his debts crush him. That's just life, y'know?
Notes: Has only been on testosterone HRT for a few years without any surgery, so his vocal range may be on the higher end. All voice ranges are welcome to apply regardless.
Optional Audition Lines:

  • [whispering to self, panicked] "That guy is definitely checking me out. Oh god, is he a chaser?"
  • [sarcasm, bitter] "Get a job in STEM they said, there's so much job security in tech they said."
  • [disbelief, comedic] "So, you're basically offering to be my... sugar daddy?"

Role: "The Vampire"
Preferred Vocal Range: Tenor - Baritone
Personality: Charming, Easygoing, Generous, Sincere (at least, that's what he wants you to think(?))
Description: A rather suave conversationalist who seems to have the trust of those around him. One might mistake his confident smile for smugness at first, but he's just really, oddly invested in other peoples' business. Or maybe he's actually some busybody trying to humblebrag about how great of a life he has. Weirdo.
Notes: It is crucial for those applying to this role to be BIPOC from a culture whose cuisine makes use of blood or blood curd/blood tofu (ie. African, Brazilian, Korean, Filipino, etc.), as this is an important plot device. All voice ranges are welcome to apply.
Optional Audition Lines:

  • [calm, low chuckle] "Relax, I'm just like you."
  • [confident, sexy] "Tithe your blood to me, and in exchange I'll ensure you spend the rest of your days in comfort."
  • [sad, sighing] "I don't know if there's a way for me to convince you that I was serious about that deal. Is it... wrong for me to care about others?"

As an indie studio, our budget is limited and we can only offer up to 1 hour of partial VA work that may involve full lines or barks (sighs, coughs, short exclamations, etc.) paid at a rate of $75/hr.

To apply, please send an email to tofurocks.games@gmail.com with the subject line Vampire Jam VA - [YOUR NAME] and include which character(s) you are auditioning for, a link to your portfolio/demo reels, information on your equipment, a recording of room audio, optional audition lines, and your social media profiles if applicable. Priority will be given to BIPOC applicants on both roles, and only applicants who are trans masculine/nonbinary will be considered. Payment is offered via Wise, Stripe, or PayPal. Applications for this position are planned to close on December 22, 2023.
