society has a big problem and it is, specifically, that we do not seem to understand how to name generations anymore. before gen x generations were named stuff like "baby boomers" and "the silent generation" and "the greatest generation" and then for some reason even though generation X was named that because of specific aspects of youth culture captured in the connotations of the letter X, for some reason a bunch of people then decided that the next generation was going to be generation Y?? as if we were going in alphabetical order?? fortunately we dodged that bullet and called them millennials but we have GOT to address the whole "generation z" thing. generations aren't hurricanes we aren't going alphabetically and we didn't RUN OUT of letters, we only used two of them so you don't have to use greek ones now with "generation alpha??"
also a plea to writers: please stop ascribing characteristics to "generation alpha" they are like four years old you know nothing about them, it is already dumb enough to talk about generations when they're adults but this is a new low
